Gao Hong will perform a free Lollipops Concert for children and families. Lollipops Concerts are free educational opportunities supported by the Friends of the WCFSO.

Saturday, October 2 at 7:30 p.m. in the Gallagher-Bluedorn Performing Arts Center, University of Northern Iowa.

Gao Hong joins Music Director Jason Weinberger and the Waterloo-Cedar Falls Symphony on Concerto for Pipa and Strings by Tan Dun, Oscar winning composer of the Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon film score. Works by Weber and Dvořák complete an evening of music that opens the Symphony's 81st Season.

Sunday, February 13, 2011, 3:00 p.m. at O'Shaughnessy Auditorium in St. Paul with "Speaking In Tongues", Guqin (Chinese Zither) master Zhao Jiazhen and famous percussion group "Ba Da Chui" from China.

Tickets: $18 for adults, $15 students/seniors and MPR/TPT members, $10 for groups of 10 or more or low-income. Half price discount for those attending Zhao Jiazhen’s February 9th solo guqin concert at the Loring Theater in Minneapolis and “Embrace China” Concert.
